After a year since the formation of the government under the leadership of Mr. Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, it can be said that it is a harmonious government that works quietly and cooperatively among its members. It has laid the correct foundations for economic progress and solving the country's problems in this file. It has successfully passed the budgets for the three years smoothly in parliament, and the government is moving towards resolving the problems with the Kurdistan region with rationality, which has resolved many conflicts. The relationship with neighboring countries has developed and Iraq has regained its true voice thanks to the harmony between Al-Sudani and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Fuad Hussein, who leads Iraqi diplomacy with skill amidst a field of international and regional crises.
As a historian and attendee of cabinet sessions, I testify to this government that it makes its decisions based on dialogue and understanding, without imposition of wills or sole authority for decision-making, through objective discussions and exchange of opinions.
Despite the withdrawal of the Sadrists from the political process, they have not worked to incite chaos or disturb stability, due to their commitment to the instructions of their leader Mr. Muqtada Al-Sadr, who refuses to incite sedition and undermine security.
When we take all these gains into consideration on one hand, and see the reality of politics in the democratic system based on the separation of powers, making it a sea full of variables, it is necessary to deal with the judiciary's decision to dismiss Mr. Mohammed Al-Halbousi from parliament wisely and sensibly in order to deprive the enemies of Iraq, who seek to stir up strife and turmoil, especially the Zionists and their allies. Therefore, I believe it is necessary to reject the resignations submitted by the ministers from the Tawafuq Party led by Al-Halbousi, due to their competence, success in their work, and their harmony with the Prime Minister, especially Dr. Mohammed Tamim, who witnessed the establishment of the political process from its inception and stepped out of it, becoming an expert in it. I am reassured that Mr. Al-Sudani will reject these resignations.
The current crisis requires the leaders of the political process, foremost among them Mr. Masoud Barzani, Mr. Nouri al-Maliki, Mr. Muqtada Al-Sadr, Mr. Ammar Al-Hakim, Mr. Falah Al-Fayyad, and all loyal leaders to Iraq, to quickly consult and resolve the problem. Furthermore, the national duty calls on Mr. Al-Halbousi to deal with the judiciary's decision wisely and wisely, as he is still young and has a future ahead of him to develop his party and maintain its popular base, especially as we are on the verge of elections for the provincial councils, which must be implemented on time.
The interest of Iraq and Iraqis, as well as the security and social stability of the country, must remain above all considerations. This is the responsibility of everyone and cannot be evaded."
