About seven years ago, I visited the Retirement Department and found its condition to be painful and its conditions tiring for the patients, most of whom are elderly people who cannot stand for long while the crowding at the employees’ windows is severe, and the department is devoid of chairs and rest rooms, and the elderly patients move with difficulty in the dark corridors while they are They already suffer from poor eyesight, and the director’s room is crowded with auditors and employees, making it difficult to understand or talk to the director.

I found that all of this situation had changed completely during my last visit to the Retirement Department. Seating spaces were available for auditors, the lighting was in good condition, and the director’s room was quiet because he had distributed some of his powers until he found the opportunity to meet retirees, especially the elderly, in the waiting rooms so that he could handle their transactions and affairs as quickly as possible, and the condition of the place improved. a lot.

The vast difference between the two cases prompted me to ask the director about this great progress in performance. He revealed that the department enjoys the support and care of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, who meets all its needs to provide the best conditions for retirees. This segment is the one that built the country and sacrificed for it, and it deserves care.
