From the very beginning of her academic journey at Effat University, Jana Abu Hantash set her sights on a clear goal: to contribute to creating technological solutions that serve society and strengthen the role of scientific research in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Today, graduating with First-Class Honours, Jana proves that passion combined with perseverance creates truly remarkable success stories.

Her path is marked by groundbreaking accomplishments. She earned First Place at the 6th Undergraduate Research Forum (UGRF) for her pioneering work on advancing Arabic Large Language Models (LLMs) through Natural Language Processing (NLP). She also competed nationally and regionally, securing Third Place in the first round of the 8th IET GCC Robotics Competition in Saudi Arabia, and later received the “Most Demanded Robotics Concept” award at the GCC level for an innovative project designed to assist individuals in transportation during Umrah.

Her impact extended further through diverse research contributions, including the publication of an IEEE paper on leveraging artificial intelligence in animation to enhance software engineering education. She collaborated with researchers at KAUST to develop a large-scale Arabic NLP framework and curate academic datasets for Arabic LLMs, a project that incorporated advanced AI methodologies to strengthen Arabic’s presence in global AI research. In addition, she contributed to cutting-edge work in battery technologies, designing predictive models to assess performance and degradation with high precision using machine learning and multi-source data.

During her academic journey, Jana also represented the Computer Science Department at Effat University, closing her chapter as a student with a record full of achievements, and opening the door to her professional path with a clear vision of innovation and applied research.
