
We are pleased to introduce the publication project of the book a Travelogue entitled “Bhutan: Kingdom of Mindfulness: Your Sojourn: Soul Searching with Serenity, Spirituality and Sustainability,” by Doji Dhratyul.
This book is not merely a geographical journey, but also an inner voyage into the heart of Bhutan—a kingdom celebrated for its rich culture, timeless values, and globally inspiring innovations such as Gross National Happiness, High Value–Low Volume Tourism, and the Gelephu Mindfulness City.
Our goal in this publication is to make this rich content available in both Arabic and English, reaching as many readers as possible, serving as a source of inspiration and knowledge about Bhutan — the land of happiness and mindfulness.
We hope this introduction will be the gateway to an enjoyable journey through texts that carry the spirit of Bhutan, and that readers will find nourishment for their curiosity and enrichment for their experience.
About the Author:
With a pen name Doji Dhratyul, Dorji Dhradhul is a writer, global speaker, sustainable tourism expert, creativity catalyst, cultural explorer, and served as Governor of a district and Director General of the Tourism Council in the Royal Government of Bhutan. With over thirty years of experience in tourism and national policy, he has led transformative initiatives that have strengthened sustainable tourism in his country.
Dorji has authored several works that illuminate Bhutanese culture and its unique spirit, including the novel Escapades Awakenings and the nonfiction titles Hercules of Tongchudrak and Creativity Time to Crown Again: Critical Competency for the 21st Century and Beyond. His travelogue, Bhutan: Kingdom of Mindfulness—Your Sojourn: Soul Searching with Serenity, Spirituality, and Sustainability, offers a distinctive guide that blends an external journey with an inner exploration into the heart of Bhutan. In recognition of his long and dedicated service to the country, its people, and the King, Dorji received a Gold Medal from His Majesty The King of Bhutan in 2024.
